A non-toxic castile soap is traditionally made from olive oil. castile soap lathers naturally without any chemicals. While most soaps tend to dry the skin, castile soap cleanse and protects the skin with the antibacterial agent oleuropein. It is, therefore, suitable for sensitive as well as acne-prone skin. Castille soap smooths and soothes dry skin leaving it supple and glowing.

Peppermint essential oil

In this study researchers found that the use of peppermint oil improves itchiness and possesses antimicrobial activity and antifungal properties against certain strains of Candida. This pink salt scrub will help soothe achy feet, provide antifungal protection and add a refreshing minty scent.

Can this Himalayan salt scrub recipe go bad?

This Himalayan salt scrub is stable and safe to use without any preservatives. The salt itself prevent bacteria to grow and act as a natural preservative. Just make sure no water or moisture enters the jar.

Can I use sugar instead of salt?

You can however Himalayan salt is more coarse and allows to remove dead skin easily. The sugar crystals are fine thus may not work as effectively on the thick skin as coarse salt crystals. Fine sugar crystals are great in lip scrubs.

You can use any other liquid soap just try to find the one with natural ingredients.
